Epsom Athletic 5 Reigate Priory 1

Reigate Priory travelled to Epsom Athletic on Tuesday night looking to overturn their dreadful form that had seen them pick up no points in 6 games. With preparation ruined by a 6:15 kick off time, Priory were never in the game and were comfortably beaten on the night 5-1 by an Epsom side chasing the title and on an excellent run of form.

The only consolation was a late goal from Daniel Benson, playing as a makeshift striker due to unavailability in the squad.

Virginia Water 5 Reigate Priory 4

Having been deservedly thrashed in mid-week, Priory continued their search for that elusive 3 points that have been missing from their recent form against Battersea and Spelthorne. Their opponents at the weekend were Virginia Water, another side at the top end of the table looking to mount a late assault on the title.

Things did not look so well after 20 minutes gone with Priory 2-0 down and staring down the barrel of their second heavy defeat in a week. However, they showed the determination to haul themselves back into the game after an excellent strike from Steve Beckett and two further goals from Chris Byrne. Just as the half was coming to an end, Priory fell asleep again and let Virginia back into the game as the sides went into half time all-square at 3-3.

Looking to build on their effort from the first half, Priory went in search of the decisive next goal. But once again, poor marking let in the Virginia striker and he made no mistake to put the home side back in front. A great game for the neutral took a further twist as Chris Byrne completed his hat trick with a snap shot finish to bring the game level at 4-4. In one final dramatic twist, Virginia would again punish some sloppy defending to finish the game at 5-4 and leave Priory with no win in 8 games.
