Reigate Priory Football Club (RPFC) welcomes the opportunity given to it by Sponsors to be able to submit details of the sponsorship opportunities at this historic football club. The club has been proud to be associated with a number of local businesses over the years as it continues to be a focal point in the borough for both senior and youth players.

Financial Stability

Running a large football club has many financial demands. The financial stability of the club is determined not only by the support of the local community, but also by the management structure of the club and the work undertaken by its officers.

The club has many financial obligations such as rent for pitches, maintenance of the club house, provision of football kits, match day equipment, subscription fees to the Surrey FA to name but a few. However the club is run in an efficient and business like manner and it recorded another profit for the 2004-05 season. Currently the club has no long term debt or loans.

RPFC is independently audited each year.

Officers at the Club

RPFC is governed by the rules and regulations of both the FA and the Surrey FA. Therefore the club has a constitution and appoints official officers at its AGM each year. The club has to report annually to the Surrey FA as to who these officers are and as to their position.

In meeting these obligations the club has:

Many of the current club officials are prominent members of the local business community and as such play a proactive role in the borough.

The RPFC Difference

RPFC is different from many other local football teams. The club has an extensive history and it remains one of the few in the country that actually still plays at the same ground as when the club was formed in 1870.

In addition the club has over 100 senior players registered with the Surrey FA and fields a team in every division of the Redhill & District Football League – a feat not match by any other club in the area.

But it's not just the senior football at RPFC which distinguishes it from other teams; it's the strength in the structure of its youth football. The junior teams have fed the men's teams with many of our exciting young players and a number of these players go on to semi-professional football each year.

RPFC is a professionally run club that continues to play an active role within the local borough and one that businesses have been willing to be associated with.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Shirt Sponsorship

The most prominent team sponsorship opportunity is that of the 1 st team but sponsorship is open for all the teams. The 1st team currently plays in the Premier Division of the Redhill & District Football League.

The Redhill & District League has a number of semi-professional clubs in it who field their reserve or “A” teams and all of whom attract good sponsorship:

This ensures that the standard of the league is a high and that any team in the Premier Division of the Redhill & District League has the opportunity to be promoted into the South East Counties or Combination League.

The remaining three senior teams also provide good sponsorship opportunities with the reserves in particular very close behind the 1 st team and equal on recent club honours.

Sponsors would have their logo displayed on 14 teams shirts for one team. The shirts would also be available for people to purchase independently.

Plaque at RPFC Clubhouse

For all the club sponsors a plaque is placed on the front of the clubhouse building facing out towards the club football pitch and the Reigate Priory Cricket Pitch (approx 1mx1m). The advantage of this is that for any events that take place during the year at the ground the sponsors logo is visible from the main playing area.

Not only do the football club play at the ground throughout the season but there are a number of high profile cricketing events that take place, notable the most popular being the visit to the Priory of “Lashings Cricket Club”. This is an annual event for charity where Reigate Priory Cricket Club play host to a team of cricketing “all stars”. The event regularly attracts some 5,000 people plus on the day. The sponsors logos are clearly visible to a wide audience at the event. (http://www.lashings.com/).

Sponsors details at www.rpfc.co.uk

RPFC's web site attracts many visitors/hits throughout the year. Not only do club members look at the site but stats show the site to be visited many people externally to the club.

Of interest to Sponsors specifically is that our Google search criteria results shows that people often find the site when they are searching for activities in the area. In particular we have found both parents and players looking to move into the area will research what sporting clubs are in the borough.

For this year the site is currently being revised to ensure that sponsors logos are placed on strategic pages and with appropriate links. Sponsors logo will be placed on the home page with a direct link to :

In addition a separate page will be set up displaying the main marketing messages that Sponsors whish to promote. Content for this page is driven by the sponsor. If Sponsors wish to place a banner advert on the RPFC site then this is acceptable or possible even a link through to “Property of the Week”

Local Press

Due to the number of teams RPFC fields over a weekend there is normally a number of match reports that appear within the Surrey Mirror, Redhill & Reigate Life and the Post. Match reports each week appear for both senior and youth teams.

Where ever possible RPFC will endeavour to include Sponsors within these reports. ( please note editorial control is made by the sports editor at the Surrey Mirror )

RPFC is also confident that the announcement of a new kit based on the clubs original colours, together with a new sponsor will generate local press interest.

Hire of ClubHouse

The clubhouse has a full licensed bar up to the hours of 10.30pm. Preferential rates would apply if a member of Sponsors would want to hire the clubhouse for an event.

Cost of sponsorship – Price on application

Official Correspondence

Throughout the year the club sends out many letters to both club members and to other visiting teams. On this correspondence the logo of any main sponsor will appear.

Cost of sponsorship – FOC

RPFC realise that with any form of sponsorship it is difficult to predict the “return on investment”. However RPFC always ensure that wherever possible they will promote their sponsors. If a sponsor has any specific requests or promotions then we do our best to accommodate these requests.

For a sum of £500 per team RPFC are confident that this money will play an important role within the club and the community and in turn generate business for the sponsor.
